I truly believe knotless are the worst. I wore them for 4 months instead of traditional, n my hair became thinner.. I went back to the basics n my hair went back to being healthy. Let's face it if its not broken, don't fix it. All these fancy styles of braids just wreck the hair.. 😢

Great information! I had my crochet braids in for a little longer than 2 weeks, and washed both weeks, but the hair was heavy on my head and my scalp and back itched in spite of pre washing hair. I went ahead an took it down yesterday. I love the look but not worth it if my scalp gets inflamed 😭

Hi 👋🏽 braidsnista here. Braids can be protective styles only when doing length-retaining practices and maintaining scalp health. However, many people do neglected styles and call them protective styles. Meaning they put the braids in, and don’t shampoo, condition, moisturize etc. Putting a few drops of oil on the scalp is nowhere near length retaining practices or scalp health. I shampoo and condition every 2 weeks, and I moisturize and seal my hair all the way down the length of the braids to the point where my natural hair stops every single day like I do when my hair is out. I have high porosity hair so that is my usual interval. Others may not need to fully moisturize as frequently, but a water-based liquid product should be frequently used on the length of the hair and sealed with oil. I personally don’t use oils on my scalp anymore because they cause scalp inflammation (braids or not) especially when it’s not being washed. I use The Ordinary Multi-peptide Serum for hair density or Curl Smith Full Lenghts Density Elixir on my scalp daily. I use a medicated shampoo (Nizoral) only on my scalp as a 5-10 minute pretreatment and then follow up with the whole Girl + Hair line including their shampoo which was developed by a Black dermatologist with the expressed goal of hair and scalp health in protective styles. I like the way those products are formulated and how they work on my hair, but there are plenty of alternatives. I don’t have dandruff, itching, excessive shedding, and no breakage. Many stylists have complimented how well taken care of and healthy my hair is as well as how little and infrequent I require trims. I have thick type 4 hair that’s about waist length. It’s the practices, not the styles, although some braiders do have harmful braiding practices.

Which is better the pills or liquid ? When I was trying to get pregnant yrs ago my moma said get you some geritol lol she was convincing me but I end up founding out I was pregnant before taking it 😂 I still should of took it .. I definitely going to try because your energy in your 30s is something else 😂 plus my iron stay low and I’m hearing it will help plus the positive hair growth I’m here for it ♥️

Just bought the Nutrafol Women’s Balance it arrived open it up it smells awful like vomit 🤢. Decided to give it a try and took two pills got so sick and itchy. It is so hard to get in touch with Nutrafol to discuss refund. It may work for some but not everyone. Every time I open the bottle it smells awful. It’s on my dresser but about to be trashed even if it’s a full bottle. Waste of money. Everything is not for everyone. Thought it would help my hair after recovering from cancer. Will not purchase again.
